THE AUTHOR

RICHARD ROSE is a Solicitor specialising in property and copyright law. His profession has helped him to an understanding of the debts, crimes, wills and property of Pembroke’s people. He has been researching the history of Pembroke for several years and has made a particular study of the French invasion of 1797. His articles The Real William Tate and The Welsh Girls and the Prisoners have appeared in Pembrokeshire Life which is currently publishing a series of essays based on the material he has discovered whilst writing Pembroke People. He is working on another book of Pembrokeshire interest and one on life in 19th century Sussex.
